7 Essential Truths, Long Form
- Your body is your home, your ground, your earth. Pain and disease symptoms invite you to deeply listen for the story behind your story behind the story, they urge you in to action.
Listening deeply behind the stories, listening in to lived legacy, means an inward journey for you. Through DNA inheritance, along with the impact of the inevitable traumas of life, the internal communities that make up your body forget how to communicate, become disconnected. This is a truth of our human experience. Pain and disease, pleasure and joy, are your body’s languages.
My work comes from a place of curiosity and discovery, not diagnosis, nor is it rooted in a text book approach that works for an average someone. You are not average. You have a resonance, a signature, that is distinct from anyone else who has ever lived. The inward journey helps you find the courage to slowly release resistance to change, helps you identify and live in to your particular “song.” To facilitate this essential and often magical process, I draw on a strongly honed intuition, informed by ongoing right brain training in multiple disciplines. In partnership with these, in person, or at a distance, I access our shared energy field, resourcing from detailed protocol charts, verifying information I “perceive” with muscle checking. I use tapping to help imprint these complex just-for-you webs of information, so that your BodyMind knows which essential internal connections to weave. Over time, you develop your own ability to deeply listen, allowing you to be more at home in your body, to prioritize health, remembering to nurture your connection with the earth, so that you experience less pain and more pleasure, a greater understanding of your life’s purpose and an increased capacity to be present in life. True healing goes beyond a first aid patching up of symptoms, requiring you to become more completely who you are so that you are better able to do what you are meant to do in and for this world.
- To begin your journey, recognize that healing rarely looks how you thought it would. It is physical, yes, but also emotional & spiritual. Bring a commitment to curiosity, patience and persistence to your process. It’s a glorious and life-affirming adventure.
If you have a tightly held view of what healing should look or feel like, you might miss the gifts, the small miracles, as they arrive. In my own process, I thought healing should mean no more headaches, an end to neck or shoulder pain. What I have experienced over the years is a profound reduction of those. These days, I know what to do for myself when I do have symptoms. Along the way, myriad other things have changed in my BodyMind, and my life. They continue to change. I won’t say I court and delight in change but I do embrace it’s inevitability, am more able to mitigate it’s disruptions and live in to its gifts.
What I have found is that the further you progress on this journey, the further you can journey. You will experience frustration and disappointment. Impatience. You may continue to feel broken but in new and less pervasive ways. It’s so important to bookmark progress. I help you to do that. I help you to develop the muscle of personal resiliency. The passion I bring to this work comes from personal experience with the twists and turns, the surprises and miracles, of my own healing journey. Between those and what I’ve learned from clients, I know that healing is not about always feeling good. It is about more fully showing up for and to your life.
- Beauty and pleasure, challenge and loss have shaped you, are part of the legacy, you were born into.
You cannot divorce yourself from your distinct web of legacy, of your inherited knowing of lives lived and lost. It’s built onto and into your DNA and expresses itself differently in you than for anyone else on this planet. That’s why a one-size-fits all approach to healthcare is fated to fail. Acknowledge your inherited legacy but do not be helpless to it. The aging process does not sentence you to a reduced quality of life. It does affirm: Life is change. Wouldn’t you prefer to choose the type of change you experience when and where you can?
Energy medicine goes places where Western Medicine simply cannot, helping you to weave a new fabric of health to pass forward to future generations, viscerally knowing that’s possible. I facilitate this process by addressing the story behind Epigenetic “locks” caused by countless unseen factors, introducing you to your emotional holding patterns, the seen and unseen belief systems that restrict your ability to show up to all that life offers you.
- Find a safe, nurturing environment and a skilled, experienced and compassionate guide for your journey so you can open to an evolving exploration of the intricate complexity of your story.
Health issues always anchor in emotion, experience and memory. We each carry the imprints of emotional heartbreak and disappointed dreams. Our bodies express those. Acknowledging those, and re-framing the path forward is essential.
Many of us have experienced profound betrayal and abuse. We feel at risk as we navigate our lives. We feel broken and trapped. Pain highlights restriction: physical, mental, emotional and Spiritual. Medicating pain with drugs and alcohol, with sugar and compulsive behaviors, offer only a temporary fix and block access to your true self. These too are intergenerational patterns.
We have opportunities that our ancestors, our parents, did not have had. Even so, healing is messy and difficult. It must be faced head-on. You want a guide who walks the walk and who can help you to walk yours.
I have personal experience in, and decades of professional training with, each of these issues, I bring a knowing compassion to your journey. I teach, I mentor, I facilitate. I know how to connect you with appropriate resources. But ultimately, this is your journey. While you may treasure what we co-create, my commitment is to empowering you to believe in yourself, in your own capacity for self-care and self-nurturing, your capacity to reconfigure yourself over and over again, to consciously re-frame your path forward. - For a woman, being female is the heart and essence of your legacy and your story.
We each inherit and take on our culture’s norms about what it is to be female, often without considering if these are a fit. Many of us carry the toxic imprint of intergenerational anger, of our mother’s and grandmothers’ frustrated hopes and dreams. While, this is also true for your father and grandfathers, as women, we have a direct linkage to and resonance with our female line. The egg that became you was in your mother’s body as her embryo developed in her mother’s, and back through the generations.
We lack a workable model for what it is to be healthy and female, so we try to do and be it all. When we try to function in the way the men around us do — in the workforce, in business, in communities — it deadens natural rhythms and connections in our body. For women, journeying with another woman as guide, a guide with an intimate inside view, is completely different than working with a man. It doesn’t matter how empathic he may be. Each person who practices energy medicine “reads” the energy differently. I read it as a woman who has both needed and wanted to find strength and beauty in being female in a generation when that was still a radical act. It is perhaps still a radical act.
Sessions support intrinsic qualities of female resiliency, like creativity and heart-centered compassion, the ability to hold our web of family and community from a place of strength and wisdom. In part they do that by rebalancing and re-connecting your brains, head, heart and gut, over and again, so that they can work as they were meant to do: in coordination, supporting and enhancing your well-being, body, mind and Spirit. You will learn to do this for yourself. It’s one of the first things I teach.
- Nature and Spirit, beauty and creativity, offer nurturing harbors for your true essence. They offer unconditional love and acceptance.
A healthy balance requires connection. Healthy balance leads to resiliency. Resiliency requires resourcing. What nurtures you? Learn to practice a deeper listening to earth, to Creation. You are a part of nature, an expression of Spirit.
With a life-time affinity for earth-based spirituality, I help to connect you with resources in your environment that you may have lost awareness of and connection with. We are each perhaps super-aware of the human-cause toxicity in our world, the dramatic disconnections. It’s imperative to know how to notice and choose the most-life-affirming environments within the limitations and challenges of your life. The earth is always under your feet, the sky above. We each are a living bridge between those. I weave these truths in to my work and in to my life. I believe this so fully, I also trained in and practice Energy Medicine for plants and for animals. - When you wake up to who and what you really are — not how society has defined you or who someone has said you must be — you begin to create your unique legacy, adding that truth to our shared legacy, bringing healthy change to your own life, your family, community & our world, consciously rewriting your story, our story.
I love this aspect of my work, am honored to slowly and gently introduce someone to themselves. I open the door, perhaps an inch at a time, so as not to overwhelm. I do this so you can become more completely who you are and do what you are meant to do in this world, so I can become more completely who I am, and do what I am meant to do in this world. Consciously or unconsciously, we each are an integral thread in an inter-connected web of life, truly sharing it forward.
At one point, I asked her if she believed there is magic in the world, and she told me, “The world is magic, honeychild. “
