Fascia is your full body connective tissue web. It's a fluid-based tissue that binds, flexes and strengthens. Light and spirit move through fascia.
It's the largest sensory organ in your body.
When any part of your body is injured or traumatized, it creates strain that pulls on that web, applying tremendous pressure to nerves, muscles, organs, bones — and the brain. Fascia is a communicator. While the nervous system moves at about 150 miles per hour, fascia moves at 750 mph and it sends sensory information to your brain. .
A layer of loose connective tissue, superficial fascia allows for gliding, stability, and strength. Deep fascia gives force and power to movement. Visceral fascia surrounds and is within the lungs, heart, abdominal organs, creating elasticity within the system.
Having fascial restrictions affects a lot more than you might think. Having those restrictions addressed, does the same. And, well, we all need to be able to flex and flow and every level especially in these times of unrelenting challenge and change.
Releasing fascial strain promotes freer movement in your spine and joints, along with less muscle spasm, pain and stiffness throughout. An unrestricted fascia and freely moving brain are a must for everyone—newborns, children, and adults.
Fascia releases layer by layer, generally with more recent injuries releasing first, then over time, releases reach further back in to older injuries and patterns, all the way to early childhood and en-utero.
The looser the fascia in your body is and the more readily the brain can expand and contract, the healthier you will be, the better and more free, you feel.
You won't have experienced this work before -- it's my own "medicine" -- so the best way to learn is to try it.
After a session, most people feel calm and relaxed. With the release of fascial strain and the return of healthier neurophysiology, a potential for real change in how you live in your body emerges. Please set aside time after your session to let that happen.
